CURLING LEAGUES

Welcome to the 5th year of curling! This year we are having a nine week season with eight weeks of regular season play, and one week for make up games. There are eight teams in each league. Teams are composed of 4+ players. Teams will play a double header each week on their league night. There are two different game time starts that will vary week to week (6pm = early start & 8pm = late game start).

We play on three curling sheets  ("Train Tracks", "Middle Sheet" and "Taproom'') that are 75ft x 14ft. These sheet have a  glycol chiller underneath them which allows us to maintain the courts through warmer weather!

If you aren't familiar with, or have just forgotten about, the structure of curling here at Forgotten Star, it is slightly different from official curling regulations. It's more of a backyard style of curling. We use mini versions of curling stones while using brooms to either speed up or slow down the stones. It's a great way to have some outdoor fun during the winter, while enjoying a beer with friends. If you still have some questions, comments, or concerns about the leagues, please contact the league director by email at leagues@fsbc.beer

2025

The 2025 Curling Leagues aren't open yet, click on the "NOT OPEN" button, to be notified when they open.

Leagues have gained immense popularity in recent years, with some filling up even before public announcements. To manage this demand, we use a "Three Waves" system for team signups:

  • First Wave: Teams that participated in the exact league last year get first priority and a grace period to sign up.

    • Last two weeks in October

  • Second Wave: Teams that have been in our leagues/tournament before receive a grace period to sign up (or mailing list).

    • First two weeks in November

  • Third Wave: The league is announced on social media and opens to the public.

    • Last two weeks of November through December
